HC Deb 02 March 1959 vol 601 c8W
65. Sir A. Hurd

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, in view of the satisfactory progress of the attested herds scheme, which should result in Great Britain being completely clear of bovine tuberculosis in two years' time, what further safeguards are to be applied when Irish cattle are brought into this country.

Mr. Godber

Future arrangements for the trade in store cattle from the Irish Republic are still under consideration. My right hon. Friend hopes to be able to make a statement before long.
