HC Deb 21 July 1959 vol 609 c106W
93. Mr. Awbery

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies when work will begin on the secondary technical school for boys at Hamrun in Malta, which was scheduled to start last year; and when it is expected to be completed.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The Estimates for 1958–59 provided for the construction of a technical school for boys and girls at Hamrun. Priority was, however, given to the girls' section. This was because no technical school at all existed for girls and a new technical school for boys had recently been completed at Kordin. It is hoped that it will be possible to start work on the boys' school later this year and to complete it in 1963.
