§ 45. Mr. Lewisasked the Prime Minister whether, during his visit to the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, he will seek an opportunity to see the methods by which the Russians construct roads in Moscow and Siberia under very severe cold and frost conditions without the roads breaking up and having drainage trouble as experienced on the Preston by-pass road; and whether he will make available the result of this investigation to those concerned with the construction of British roads.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerI have been asked to reply.
My right hon. Friend the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation has available full technical information about road construction methods abroad, and is thus aware of the practices adopted in other climatic conditions.
