HC Deb 25 February 1959 vol 600 c153W
10. Mr. Hale

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is aware that the Oldham man whose name has been communicated to him and who had been refused payment of unemployment pay made several verbal applications for an interview with the manager which were refused, made a written application to appeal which has never been acknowledged, and sent a registered letter which has not been acknowledged; and whether he will investigate this matter and make a statement.

Mr. Iain Macleod

I am informed that no one at the local office can recall an oral request by this man for an interview with the manager. He was interviewed by a supervisor on 20th January when the registered letter was received. I regret the delay in dealing with the appeal which was heard on 12th February and rejected by the local tribunal.
