§ 66. Mr. D. Jonesasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will make a statement on the official steps being taken to prevent the industrial dispute arising in Grenada.
§ Mr. J. AmeryA dispute over wage claims between employees and the Government Electricity Department was first reported in August, 1958. A tribunal was appointed to inquire into the matters under dispute but the union concerned did not accept its recommendations. Discussions between the union and Government representatives continued and a Government Committee was appointed in February to negotiate with the union. Negotiations are now in progress.
