HC Deb 09 February 1959 vol 599 c140W
60. Mr. Grimond

asked the Minister of Health what steps are being taken to negotiate reciprocal agreements with the Commonwealth countries by which visitors from Great Britain to these countries who fall ill may get free medical attention.

Mr. Walker-Smith

The New Zealand authorities have been asked to consider the possibility of an agreement which would provide medical services for visitors. Certain other possibilities are explored from time to time but agreements of this kind are limited by the extent of the medical services provided by other countries for their own nationals.
