§ 59 and 60. Mr. G. Jegerasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation (1) what is the estimated cost of building a new bridge near the existing toll bridge at Selby; and whether he has any plans for proceeding with this if it is found impracticable to buy the toll rights of the old bridge;
(2) what arrangements are made for regular inspection of the toll bridge at Selby; and whether he is satisfied that it is structurally sound.
§ Mr. NugentSelby Bridge is a privately owned structure for which we are not responsible, nor have we the powers to inspect it. As regards the future, I have nothing to add at present to what I said on 28th January in reply to the question from my hon. and gallant Friend the Member for Barkston Ash (Sir L. Ropner).
