HC Deb 17 December 1959 vol 615 c262W
Mr. John MacLeod

asked the Minister of Transport why the Member for Ross and Cromarty, as a representative of the Highland Panel, was officially asked to withdraw from a deputation to him on Thursday, 3rd December, regarding the closure of railway stations north of Inverness.

Mr. Marples

The composition of the deputation was, of course, a matter for the local authorities concerned. However, when I found that not all the hon. Members representing the constituencies affected were with the deputation, I thought it best to ask my hon. Friend whether he would kindly withdraw.
