HC Deb 16 December 1959 vol 615 c164W
82. Mr. Pargiter

asked the Minister of Transport which major cities, other than London and Birmingham, in response to his request, have provided information on the schemes they would like to carry out over the next five or six years; and what is the total expenditure envisaged in each case.

Mr. Marples

I have so far received replies from nine large cities in addition to London and Birmingham. The schemes they would like to be authorised would cost about £37 million. I cannot yet say what the outcome will be.

The following are the details:

City Financial Years 1960–61 to 1965–66
£
Bradford 3.5 m.
Bristol 5.1 m.
Cardiff 2.1 m.
Coventry 2.7 m.

Liverpool 5.5 m.
Newcastle-upon-Tyne 5.5 m.
