§ 149. Mr. Teelingasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what steps he proposes to take to halt the building of blocks of flats in the Varn Dean area of Brighton pending an inquiry into the protests of nearly 100 per cent. of the local residents, sent to him on 9th December, in view of the fact that the Planning Committee of the Brighton Council gave permission for these flats to be erected after the borough surveyor had turned down the application, and without hearing the protests of the local residents, first made in September, 1959.
§ Mr. H. BrookeI cannot trace having received any protests about this development, but I am making inquiries and will write to my hon. Friend.
