HC Deb 15 December 1959 vol 615 cc139-40W
98. Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs if he will state approximately the number of households without a fixed bath.

Mr. H. Brooke

The best estimate I can make at present is that out of the 14½million houses in England and Wales there are between 3 and 4 million with- out a fixed bath. A more up-to-date estimate will be possible when the results of the 1961 census become available.

Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs approximately how many families are sharing a kitchen with another family, including married couples who are living with the husbands' or wives' parents.
