asked the President of the Board of Trade how many bilateral trade agreements are currently in operation; and in how many of these coal is included as an exchange commodity.

There are twenty-one current agreements and coal is mentioned in four of them. These agreements do not, however, require commodities to be exchanged but leave traders free to buy and sell on commercial considerations.
