§ 71. Mr. Parkerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he has considered the resolution of the Association of Municipal Corporations, a copy of which has been sent to him by the hon. Member for Dagenham, in favour of meeting the travelling expenses of members, within the area of their local authority, when on council business; and whether he will introduce legislation for this purpose.
§ Sir K. JosephMy right hon. Friend has been in consultation with the local authority associations and is considering this suggestion for amendment of the law. He is not yet in a position to make a statement.
