§ Mr. R. A. ButlerAs I have informed my hon. and gallant Friend, I have caused inquiries to be made about a report that, following a complaint to the Commissioner of Police, a traffic policeman was reprimanded; and that as a consequence the officer's colleagues held a protest meeting and decided to adopt "blind-eye go slow" methods. The Commissioner informs me that these statements are untrue. I regret that such wholly unfounded statements should have been made, reflecting on the conduct of officers of the Metropolitan Police.
