2. Mr. John Hall

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prosecutions were instituted in the Metropolitan Police area during each of the last three years as a result of alleged offences in connection with gambling parties; and how many of these prosecutions have been successful.

Mr. Renton

asked In 1956, 46 prosecutions were instituted in the Metropolitan Police District in respect of gaming parties and there were 45 convictions. In 1957 there were 53 prosecutions and 53 convictions, and in 1958, 50 prosecutions and 49 convictions.
