HC Deb 16 April 1959 vol 603 cc93-4W
Mr. Iremonger

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he expects to be able to make a statement about the counting of auxiliary fire service and national fire service service for pension under the General Local Government Superannuation Scheme.

Mr. R. A. Butler

asked I regret that after full consideration I have not been able to find sufficient grounds for proposing a change in the present arrangements relating to former members of the National Fire Service who transferred to local government employment when fire brigades came under local authority control in 1948.
