§ 37. Mr. Gowerasked the Minister of Education how many senior officers of his Department were born in Wales; what steps he will take to increase the recruitment of persons for senior grades with a particular knowledge of Wales; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Geoffrey LloydThe information asked for in the first part of the Question is not readily available for the Ministry of Education as a whole. Recruitment is in the hands of the Civil Service Commissioners, who maintain a close liaison with the universities, including that of Wales.
§ 38. Mr. Gowerasked the Minister of Education what further devolution of the work of his Department in Wales is contemplated in the next year or so; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Geoffrey LloydMy right hon. Friend is not yet in a position to give any information on this matter.
