To review the present treatment for rating of hereditaments in England and Wales occupied for purposes of a charitable nature or for other similar purposes (other than hereditaments to which Section 7 of the Rating and Valuation (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act, 1955, applies); to consider in particular the provisions of Section 8 of the Act of 1955 and of the Scientific Societies Act, 1843: and to advise on the proper treatment for rating of the hereditaments within these terms of reference.I should like to express my gratitude to these gentlemen for their willingness to serve.
