Mr. Lewisasked the Prime Minister whether, during his forthcoming tour in the north of England, he will make a 271W point of meeting representatives of the trades unions and local trades councils to discuss unemployment and short-time working; and further, whether he will make a point of meeting the representatives of the miners and their trade union to discuss the problems now confronting the mining industry.
§ The Prime MinisterI do not intend to hold any formal meetings on my tour, but I hope to meet people from all walks of life, including trade unionists.
