HC Deb 10 December 1958 vol 597 c70W
85. Mr. Ernest Davies

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he has considered the report of the London and Home Counties Advisory Committee on the St. Marylebone Borough Council parking scheme; and what action he proposes to take thereon.

101. Sir W. Wakefield

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation what progress he has made in connection with approving the establishment of a parking scheme for St. Marylebone.

Mr. Watkinson

I have now given full consideration to the St. Marylebone Borough Council parking scheme in the light of the objections made to it, the report of Sir Reginald Sharpe who conducted a Public Inquiry, the report of the London and Home Counties Traffic Advisory Committee and the results of the experiment in North-West Mayfair. I have decided to approve the scheme with some modifications; when these have been settled I will make the necessary Order and Regulations. The St. Marylebone Borough Council are being officially informed of my decision today.
