HC Deb 10 December 1958 vol 597 cc91-2W
Mr. Fell

asked the President of the Board of Trade what steps he is taking to develop this country's trade relations with Ghana.

Sir D. Eccles

I am glad to inform the House that Her Majesty's Government have received a communication from the Government of Ghana referring in appreciative terms to the reception given in this country to the Trade Mission which visited us from Ghana last March

to support themselves or who have relatives living in this country able and willing to support them, he will allow Mrs. Anna Horvat Marcovic, an alien, whose children are living in England, to enter the country as soon as her application for a permit to enter is received.

Mr. R. A. Butler

I am not satisfied, on present information, that the case of Mrs. Marcovic is covered by the policy modifications which I announced to the House on 20th November and which are not quite as set out in the Question. However, I am prepared to consider any further facts which may be put before me.
