HC Deb 03 April 1958 vol 585 c186W
55. Mr. Hurd

asked the Prime Minister what general directions he has given to the Atomic Energy Authority regarding the employment of medical staff during periods of public holiday.

The Prime Minister

None.

63. Mr. Mason

asked the Prime Minister if he is aware of the concern in the Atomic Energy Authority about the drift of scientists to the United States of America; to what extent the Government have applied their mind to this problem; and whether he will give a general direction to the Authority to review the conditions, salary scales and opportunities for advancement in the Authority.

The Prime Minister

The Atomic Energy Authority has informed me that it has given careful study to this matter. While any loss of scientists is unwelcome, the number of staff who have left to take employment in the United States of America is extremely small.
