§ 93. Mr. Sumnerasked the Secretary of State for Air whether he will make a statement on the future use of Biggin Hill airfield and his Department's housing in the vicinity.
Mr. WardR.A.F. Station Biggin Hill is at present used by a communication flight and by London University Air Squadron. We are considering its use for certain ground units. The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is in touch with us on the possibility of making the airfield available to civil operators and to flying clubs from Croydon. The married quarters at Biggin Hill will continue to be required by the Royal Air Force.
