HC Deb 02 April 1958 vol 585 c155W
Mr. Body

asked the Minister of Labour whether he is satisfied with the existing arrangements for employment exchanges in the new town of Basildon; and whether he will make a statement.

Mr. Iain Macleod

The population of the new town of Basildon is at present served by Laindon and the Pitsea Employment Exchanges which are approximately one mile to a mile and a half from the new town centre. I am satisfied that the existing arrangements are adequate for the present, but I propose to review the situation as the new town develops.
