Dame Irene Wardasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance whether he will arrange an inquiry as to how many war widows have to seek National Assistance, and take immediate steps to discuss with the Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmen's Families Association the action necessary to end this situation.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterThere is no need for such an inquiry, as information is available on this subject. I am always glad to meet representatives of the Soldiers', Sailors' and Airmen's Families Association, and have in fact done so from time to time.
