HC Deb 11 November 1957 vol 577 cc18-9W
64. Mr. Brockway

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what conclusions have been reached by Her Majesty's Government regarding the future of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency operating among Arab refugees in Jordan and Gaza.

Mr. Ian Harvey

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency is, by resolution of the General Assembly, to continue in being until 1960. It is too early for Her Majesty's Government to reach conclusions on what should happen to it after that date, and its future is in any case a matter for the General Assembly.
