HC Deb 11 November 1957 vol 577 c9W
29. Mr. G. Roberts

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he is in consultation, or will enter into consultation, with agricultural organisations in Caernarvonshire on the special difficulties and anxieties of sheep farmers affected by the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in the county, particularly the problem of cynefin.

Mr. Godber

My right hon. Friend is aware of the acclimatisation problem to which the hon. Member refers and I understand it has been taken into account for the purposes of valuation. My right hon. Friend does not think any useful purpose would be served at this stage by consulting agricultural organisations, since there is a well-established procedure for appeals against valuations.
