HC Deb 27 March 1957 vol 567 cc112-3W
54. Captain Pilkington

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, in view of the number of man-hours lost to industry due to present delays, what plans he has for speeding the passage of traffic across Poole Bridge.

Mr. Nugent

My right hon. Friend is considering an application from the Poole Borough Council for a grant towards the cost of replacing the existing manually operated gates by electrically operated barriers which would reduce the time taken to open and close this bridge. I expect a decision will be reached shortly.
