HC Deb 27 March 1957 vol 567 c109W
18. Mr. Lewis

asked the Postmaster-General what representations he has received from Mrs. Topham, of Aintree Racecourse Limited, asking for his permission to make a charge to bookmakers using her telephone service, supplied, installed, and maintained by him.

Mr. K. Thompson

None. I know of no charge being made by Topham's Limited for the use of their telephones by bookmakers. I have seen Press reports about a charge by Topham's Limited for their consent given to certain agencies for siting their telephones on racecourse property. This is a matter for the parties themselves.
