HC Deb 21 March 1957 vol 567 c62W
64. Mr. Orbach

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Education whether, in view of the fact that a number of schools have the impression, following the proposed action by local education authorities based on his Department's Survey of Art Schools in 1952–54, that they are under notice of closure, he will give the name of the one school of art which he has stated to be under such notice.

Sir E. Boyle

The Willesden School of Art.

65. Mr. Orbach

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Education how many schools of art he proposes closing wholly, and how many partially, during the next three years.

Sir E. Boyle

My noble Friend is continuing his review of full-time art courses. He cannot yet say what decisions will be taken on them by the local education authorities concerned or to what extent, if at all, the review will lead to the complete closure of art schools.
