Mr. Gresham Cookeasked the Minister of Labour at what date, and by what amounts, the wages of employees of provincial omnibus companies have been increased in the last year.
§ Mr. Iain MacleodOperating staff employed by company-owned undertakings received a 5s. per week increase in November, 1956, following agreement on the National Council for the Omnibus Industry. I understand that a further 3s. per week has been paid by the employers since June, 1957. On 25th July, 1957, the Industrial Disputes Tribunal awarded an increase of 11s. per week over the rates agreed in November, 1956, and a settlement has been reached on this basis.
