§ Mr. Iain MacleodThe increase in the price of welfare milk is likely to raise the index of retail prices by about one-eighth of a point. The index is not directly affected by changes in the prices of school meals and National Insurance contributions but, if it were, the effect on the index of the changes recently announced would be very small.
