HC Deb 26 February 1957 vol 565 cc156-7W
77. Mr. Wigg

asked the Secretary of State for War if he will state the average number of Regular recruits per annum the Army expects to receive in the future, apart from those enlisting on engagements of three years with the Colours and four years with the Reserve, and for 22-year engagements in which the soldier is committed to periods of three-years Colour service; and the average number of years it is anticipated such recruits will serve.

Mr. Hare

Any Answer must depend on a number of assumptions which are at present under discussion and I cannot expand on my Answer to a similar Question by the hon. Gentleman on 19th February.
