HC Deb 20 February 1957 vol 565 c70W
Mr. Awbery

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what protests he has received against the intention of the Government to import 80,000 tons of synthetic rubber; what replies he has given; and what effect this will have upon our Malayan trade.

Mr. Profumo

I have nothing to add to the reply given by my right hon. Friend the then President of the Board of Trade on 25th October, 1956, to the hon. and gallant Member for Knutsford (Lieut.-Colonel Bromley-Davenport), and to the reply given by my hon. Friend the Parliamentary Secretary to the Board of Trade to the hon. Member himself on 27th November, 1956.
