§ Mr. AlportThe following table shows the numbers of Commonwealth citizens with professional qualifications in relation to the number of persons of working age who have left the United Kingdom direct by sea to reside for more than one year in countries outside Europe in the years 1953–55 and the first half of 1956. Records are not kept of migrants travelling by air or leaving the United Kingdom initially by short sea routes.
