HC Deb 14 February 1957 vol 564 c216W
94. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Under-Secretary of State for Common-weath Relations whether he is satisfied that there is adequate consultation and co-operation between the United Kingdom and other Commonwealth countries with regard to the maintenance of their interests in Antarctica and of United Kingdom, Australian and New Zealand sovereignty over their respective Antarctic territories; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Alport

Yes. As my predecessor told the hon. Member on the 9th February, 1956, we are in constant touch with other interested Commonwealth Governments over the whole field of our and their Antarctica interests. As was then explained, there have been additional consultations on the programme of the privately organised Commonwealth Trans-Antarctica Expedition.
