HC Deb 14 February 1957 vol 564 c209W
72. Mr. Langford-Holt

asked the Minister of Labour to state the total number of Eireann workers at present employed in England and Wales.

Mr. Iain Macleod

I regret that statistics giving the information desired are not available.

Mr. Langford-Holt

asked the Minister of Labour when an Eireann worker is registered at one of the employment exchanges, what inquiry is made as to whether he or she has a criminal record or has belonged to an illegal organisation.

Mr. Iain Macleod

None. Inquiries made of the worker by my local office are directed towards finding out his skill and experience in employment.
