HC Deb 04 February 1957 vol 564 c1W
5. Mr. Marquand

asked the Minister of Health to what extent under his regulations made under the authority of Section 179 of the Public Health Act, 1936, local authorities have power to arrange for lectures and the display of pictures and cinematograph films for the purpose of preventing injurious accidents in the home which may necessitate recourse to medical treatment.

Mr. Vaughan-Morgan

I am advised that this Section is not appropriate but local health authorities can, and do, arrange publicity for the purpose under Section 28 of the National Health Service Act, 1946.
