HC Deb 04 February 1957 vol 564 c1W
8. Mr. Hastings

asked the Minister of Health whether his attention has been called to the increase by 49 per cent. of food poisoning incidents in 1955; and whether he will arrange for an inquiry into the causation and prevention of such incidents.

Mr. Vaughan-Morgan

I am aware of this increase, which I regret. The cause and means of prevention are being continuously investigated by medical officers of health, supported by the Public Health Laboratory Service and my own medical staff, and I do not think that a special inquiry is required.
