HC Deb 17 December 1957 vol 580 cc37-8W
Mr. Kimball

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he will take urgent steps to try and interest other firms in the Keadby area of Lincolnshire, in view of the closing of the Southern Oil Company's margarine factory which, following the closing of the Kraft factory, is causing concern for future employment in that area.

Sir D. Eccles

I understand that the Ministry of Labour considers that those displaced from this factory have good prospects of finding other employment in the neighbourhood. I recognise that this area would benefit from more industry giving employment to women, and my officers will bear this in mind when discussing with industrialists sites for new projects.
