HC Deb 12 December 1957 vol 579 c147W
72. Sir J. Lucas

asked the Secretary to the Treasury how many death duties are payable or can be claimed under his regulations in respect of a family of six, comprising two parents and four children, all killed simultaneously, assuming that the estate is of sufficent value and that no other live relative intervenes.

Mr. Powell

The answer depends on a great variety of circumstances; for example, if all are intestate and the children all minors, there is only one claim for Estate Duty.
