68. Mr. Slaterasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what is being done to extend and improve the lines of communication in British Guiana; and, in view of the poor highways in British Guiana, if he will give special consideration to this with increased financial aid.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe development programme for 1956–60 includes provision for spending nearly £3 million on extending or improving several major roads and for building a road to the interior. The programme is being assisted from C.D. & W. funds. The main difficulties are technical, rather than financial.
