§ Mr. WatkinsonI understand that the last three toll bridges acquired and freed50W by highway authorities were those at Denton, near Ilkley, in Yorkshire, at Iron Bridge, in Shropshire, and at Littlehampton, in Sussex. My Department was not concerned in any way with these acquisitions and I do not know, therefore, the principles on which they were carried out.
