HC Deb 15 March 1956 vol 550 c64W
92. Sir R. Boothby

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what investigations his Department has carried out into the causes of the failure of the East Anglian herring fishing last autumn; and what conclusions have been reached.

Mr. H. Nicholls

The disappointing results of the 1955 East Anglian herring fishery have been carefully investigated by the scientific staffs of the Fishery Departments in the light of all the available information, and a statement of their conclusions is being published today. Copies are available in the Vote Office.
