§ Mr. Viantasked the Minister of Health which are the areas in which there is a low percentage of immunisation under five years of age; and how many diphtheria cases have been notified in children under five years of age in those areas in the last three years.
§ Mr. TurtonThe percentage of immunisation was less than 40 in the counties of Derby, Rutland and Cardigan, and the county boroughs of Bury, Chester, Gateshead, Walsall and West Hartlepool. One case of diphtheria in a child under five was notified in Derbyshire in 1955. There were no confirmed notifications in children under five in these areas in 1953 and 1954.
