asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what is the present plan for the development of roads in British Guiana.

Mr. Hare

The immediate major objectives are to complete the reconstruction of the East Bank road from Georgetown to Atkinson Field and to reconstruct to modern standards the East Coast from Georgetown to Rosignol. It is also planned to construct a road from Parika to a point opposite Bartica on the Essequibo river. Plans are under examinatoin for the further improvement of road communications with the interior.
