asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will now publish the texts of the proposals put to Archbishop Makarios on 27th January by Sir John Harding, and of the Archbishop's reply.

84. Mrs. L. Jeger

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what reply has been sent to Archbishop Makarios in response to his last communication to the Governor of Cyprus.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The Governor has now replied to the Archbishop. I have nothing further to add today, but hope to be able to make a statement to the House in the near future.
