HC Deb 15 February 1956 vol 548 cc265-6W
68. Mr. Peyton

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if, in view of recent claims by the Spanish Government, he will give an assurance that there will be no alteration in the status of Gibraltar.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

I welcome this opportunity to assure the House, and our loyal friends, the people of Gibraltar, once more that Her Majesty's Government's attitude on the status of Gibraltar remains unchanged. We have no intention of modifying it and there has been no discussion with the Spanish Government on this subject.
