HC Deb 15 February 1956 vol 548 c275W
Mr. de Freitas

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation the percentage of applicants, respectively, in the city of Lincoln and in the country generally who pass their driving tests first time.

Mr. Watkinson

Records are not kept of the number of candidates who pass the driving test at the first attempt; a sample check in 1954, however, indicated that the national percentage was 55. No separate figures are available for the city of Lincoln, but the corresponding figure for the northern half of the East Midland Traffic Area, which includes Lincoln, was 54.
