Priceasked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if he is aware that loads of great dimensions and abnormal tonnage are being transported long distances on British roads, involving dislocation of traffic and damage to road surfaces and services; and what action he now proposes to take in the matter.
§ Mr. WatkinsonSuch loads are already subject to a considerable degree of control. Proposals for further measures of control were circulated on 26th November for consideration by representative organisations. When I have received all their comments and examined them I propose to consider what more should be done.
